Family Centered Treatment (FCT) is designed for families that have experienced multiple primary traumas including victims with exposure to violence, neglect, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, abandonment, losses, complex trauma and domestic violence. Families experiencing adoption disruption and those with secondary trauma from medical complexities are also included. FCT is a home-based intervention that focuses on the family unit as a whole, instead of just the individual. Family Connections (FC) is a multifaceted, community-based service program that works with vulnerable families in their homes and in the context of their neighborhoods to help them meet the basic needs of their children and prevent child maltreatment. The target population is families with children (birth to 18) who meet risk criteria for child maltreatment (criteria are adapted based on geographic differences). Family Focus Adoptions Services- In-House Transition
The Family Focus Adoption In-House Transition service focuses on the period of time when a child moves into a pre-adoptive home, until the adoption is finalized (or the placement is disrupted). Each transition has a team of workers: one worker assigned exclusively to the child, one worker assigned exclusively to the family, a continuity worker, agency caseworker, and county caseworker. Family Group Decision Making (FGDM)
FGDM recognizes the importance of involving family groups in decision making about children (ages 0 – 17) who need protection or care, and it can be initiated by child welfare agencies whenever a critical decision about a child is required. In FGDM, a trained coordinator who is independent of the case brings together the family group and the agency personnel to create and carry out a plan to safeguard children and other family members. Fostering Healthy Futures®- Preteen (FHF-P) is a positive youth development program for preadolescent youth, ages 9 to 11, who have current or previous child welfare involvement due to one or more adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). ACEs may include experiencing maltreatment; out-of-home placement; instability in housing, caregivers or schools; and/or parental substance use, mental illness, or incarceration. FosterParentCollege.com FPC is an online training venue for foster, adoptive, and kinship parents. Interactive multimedia courses, offered 24/7 through the site, provide resource parents with both pre-service and in-service training on clinical aspects of and parent interventions for their child’s behavior problems. There are 51 self-paced FPC online courses available in English, 22 of which are also available in Spanish. FPC courses can be taken individually via the internet using a mobile device or computer. The average time for each course is 1 to 2 hours.
Functional Family Therapy – Child Welfare (FFT-CW)
Functional Family Therapy through Child Welfare (FFT-CW) is an evidence-based adaptation of Functional Family Therapy (FFT) that was designed to provide services to youth (0-18 years old) and families in child welfare settings. GenerationPMTO can be used as a prevention program and a treatment program. This program directly provides services to caregivers of children/youth ages 2 to 18 with disruptive behaviors.
