Description
Clinical and supportive services designed to support adoptive or guardianship families, including:
(1) 24/7 availability through a toll-free number for support, information and referral;
(2) Regional Response team that provides brief (4-6 months) counseling, advocacy and service coordination. They can also participate in meetings with schools, courts, and other community providers;
(3) Respite Services: Family Social/Recreational, Child Recreational, & Child Care;
(4) Family support groups and social opportunities for families and children, together and alone; and
(5) Adoption competency training and professional development for community providers and DCF.
Families can participate in all the services, or any combination of the services, simultaneously and at any time in their post-adoption experience.
